The Nauvoo Historical Society aquired a caboose and built a replica of the 1897 depot. It was dedicated on Mothers Day in 1997. It is filled with some of the original equipment including, original phones, type writers, old tools, train schedule books, old telegrams, telegraph equipment, and tickets. The Historical Society purchased several lots of land behind the train station which has been turned into a beautiful park. The Park is equipped with picknick tables, grills, 16 motorhome parking places (equiped with water and sewage), showers and restrooms.
